Saw this sword, and can't find siimilar examples in my books.

This is 100% an Austrian Pioneer Project Sabre of 1847.

Total length 670 mm
Blade length 538 mm
Blade width 45 mm


Please see page 298 in Ortner-Artlieb book „ With Drawn Sword“. This Sabre is extremly rare. CONGRATULATE

Thanks to my friend chombe for identifieing this exceptional rare and early sabre of the Austrian engineering corps! Many thanks to Dmitry for presenting it to us.
Maybe Dmitry could tell us a little bit more about his wonderfull sabre (history, markings and so on), it would be very very interesting!
Proposal:
Because of significance and importance for the "Austrian Division" --is it possible to transfer this item "Project Sabre 1847" there?

Gentlemen, the sword is on it's way to me. it also comes with the scabbard [I don't have the photos]. These are the photos of the seller. He didn't know what it was either. I will post better photos , after I receive the sword, and make it more presentable.

...alsp surprises like this beauty, it was not in our Austrian division so far, if i remember well.

Just one more day, and i am finshed working for 2008, so i'll have a little more time to make a few more presentation.
